ABOUT ME

Rahul Deshpande [he/him] is a software engineer and data journalist at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. There, he builds features for AJC.com, analyzes data for investigations, builds bespoke interactive graphics and helps the newsroom use data in reporting. His interests lie in the intersection of technology and journalism, and he is passionate about using data to tell stories.

He is a two-time graduate of Georgia Tech, holding a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science. During his time as a student there, he revived the Institute's yearbook, Blueprint, and served as the editor-in-chief of the Technique, the student paper. Additionally, he served in the Student Government Association and the Residence Hall Association.

In his downtime, he enjoys playing the bansuri, experimenting with film photography, and following college athletics (especially football, women's volleyball, and men's and women's basketball).
